Windham County, Connecticut

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Windham County is located in the northeast corner of the State of Connecticut, bordered on the east by Rhode Island, to the north by Massachusetts, on the west by Tolland County, and to the south by New London County. Connecticut's fifth established county, it is the least populous. The total land area covered by Windham County is 513 square miles.

The 2000 U.S. Federal Census reported a countywide population of 109,091 (3.2% of the state total). Major cities or towns in Windham County include Windham (22,857), Plainfield (17,328), and Killingly (16,472).
