The Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc. (herein referred to as "CSG", "Service Provider", "we", "us", or "our") provides this Web site (the "Site") for use by the general public (herein referred to as "User", "You", or "Your"), both CSG Members and non-Members alike. Your use of the Site indicates that you are bound by the terms of this agreement with us. If you don't agree with any of these terms, you should not use the Site. We may alter this agreement at our discretion and your continued use after any change indicates your acceptance of that change. If you don't want to be bound by a change, discontinue use of the Site.
We reserve the right to modify, change, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Site at any time, including, without limitation, the availability of any Site feature, hours of availability, or content contained within the Site. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict your access to parts or all of the Site, for extended periods of time, without notice or liability. User is solely responsible for and must provide all communications and other equipment necessary to access the Site, including without limitation Internet access software and modems.
Restrictions of Use
You acknowledge that the Site, as a collective work, including all screens, graphics, processes, navigation, data, and computer code is protected by one or more U.S. laws regarding intellectual property, copyright, and international conventions. By using the Site, You warrant that You are not engaged in any activity that we deem to be: (a) defamatory, abusive, harassing, insulting, threatening, or that could be deemed to be stalking; (b) bigoted, hateful, or racially offensive; (c) vulgar, obscene, or sexually explicit (language or images); or that (d) encouraged or advocates illegal activity or the discussion of illegal activities with the intent to commit them (including, but not limited to acts of violence, terrorism, sale or distribution of illegal drugs, sale or distribution of firearms).
Registration and Security
As part of the registration process, You will select a password and email address ("User Name"). You must provide Us with accurate, complete, and updated registration information. Failure to do so will breach these Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your use of the Site. You understand that you may not (i) select or use a name of another person with the intent to impersonate that person; (ii) use the Rights of any person other than yourself without authorization; or (iii) use a name that we, in our sole discretion, deem inappropriate or offensive. As you submit information, you understand that the Site is owned and operated by the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc., a Connecticut-based Corporation. The Site is operated in the United States of America and operated to be in compliance with the laws of the United States. Access is governed by these terms and conditions under the laws of the State of Connecticut and the United States. Registration as a User of the Site results in your account information being stored and processed in the United States, and You, in registering or subscribing, specifically consent to that storage and processing. You may access that information at any time to confirm its correctness and to keep it current in connection with your registration or subscription. If you are subscribing or registering for use of this site from outside of the United States of America, you consent to the storage and processing in the United States of the personal data you submit. You should review and correct this information regularly.
If you have reason to believe that your Account is no longer secure, You shall notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org of any known or suspected unauthorized use(s) of your Account, or any known or suspected breach of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorized disclosure of your password. You shall be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
While many aspects of this Service are available free of charge without the need for registration; access to certain advanced components of this Service do require registration. CSG is the sole owner of the information collected through the Site Registration process.
WE WILL NOT SELL, SHARE, TRADE OR RENT this information to others.
When you register to use this Site, we ask for your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone and fax number to establish a User profile ("Profile Information"). We use Profile Information for statistical and site usage analysis, to improve our marketing and membership efforts, and to enhance the content and offerings on the Site. We may also use Profile Information to generate aggregate reports on usage trends and interests.
We may use your e-mail address, and, if necessary, your mailing address, phone or fax number, to contact you when necessary to clarify or confirm information you have submitted in connection with your use of certain site features. We may also use this information to correspond with you about services directly related to the normal activities of CSG.
We may also disclose Profile Information or other User information in special cases when we have reason to believe in good faith it is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interfering with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property, our users, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities. We may disclose any such information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
Termination of Service
Your acceptance of these Terms remain effective until terminated by either party. You may terminate your use of the Site at any time by contacting us via email at email@example.com. We may terminate your Account or access rights to this Site immediately without notice if in our sole discretion you fail to comply with any term or provision of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must destroy all materials obtained from this Site and all copies thereof, whether made under the terms of this Agreement or otherwise.
