The Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc. to Launch a New Publication

East Hartford, CT (January 2008) — In 2008 the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc celebrates its 40th anniversary and will launch a new publication, The CSG News Magazine. The inaugural issue in the summer of 2008 will introduce a series on ethnic diversity in Connecticut genealogy.

The Society's traditional publication, The Connecticut Nutmegger, will continue to serve as the repository for well-researched, documented and scholarly genealogical articles. Material contained in the Nutmegger is intended to be archival and to retain its value over many years.

The CSG News Magazine will have a different role. This new publication will contain news and information of more immediate focus. Each issue will contain a feature article relevant to an area of rapidly growing genealogical interest, such as ethnic genealogy. The publication's intent is to deliver short, informative articles in a light, attractive and "fun to read" format. Some features, previously contained in The Connecticut Nutmegger (e.g. book reviews and queries), will be moved to The CSG News Magazine. The magazine format will be 8 ½" x 11" with a four-color cover. Every CSG member (>3,300) and more than 100 subscribing libraries will receive the magazine.

For information on writing an article for The CSG News Magazine or for placing an advertisement please contact the CSG office at 860-569-0002 or csginc@csginc.org
